Two new series – Initial D: First Stage and Bakuman

With Stelvia long finished and One Punch Man nearing it’s end, both slots are seeing new shows in the next month. Due to them tieing for the place in slot 1, we have decided to show two 2-season shows.

Today we start the eurobeat racing anime Initial D: First Stage.

Synopsis from Anime News Network:

High school student Takumi Fujiwara works as a gas station attendant during the day and a delivery boy for his father’s tofu shop during late nights. Little does he know that his precise driving skills and his father’s modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno make him the best amateur road racer on Mt. Akina’s highway. Because of this, racing groups from all over the Gunma prefecture issue challenges to Takumi to see if he really has what it takes to be a road legend.

Initial D: First Stage will last for 26 episodes in Slot 1 with English Audio.

Next meet after the finale of One Punch Man, we will be starting a slice of life series about writing Manga, by the writers of Death Note: Bakuman

Synopsis from Anime News Network:

Moritaka Mashiro, a junior high school student, content to live out a relatively normal life as any other does, is persuaded by his classmate, Akito Takagi, to become an aspiring mangaka when the latter realizes his natural talent as an artist. However, Moritaka is reluctant to pursue his dream as his uncle, once a mangaka with his own serializations, died from overwork trying to regain his lost status. With Akito’s help, Takagi gets another classmate and his school crush, Azuki Miho, who is an aspiring voice actress, to voice in the anime adaptation of their future manga once it is completed. However, Mashiro also proposes to Azuki, who surprisingly accepts only on the condition she will marry him when both of them have achieved their dreams. With a goal set before him, Mashiro begins a long and struggling path to become a famous mangaka.

Bakuman will last for 25 episodes in Slot 2,  in Japanese audio with English subtitles.
